Anson Angail, Accounting

Often, exceptionally high-achieving students forgo extracurricular involvement or community engagement.  This isn’t the case with Anson Angail.  He was the valedictorian of his high school as well as a member of two varsity sports teams, the president of National Honor Society, and a volunteer coach.  Thanks to Advanced Placement and dual-enrollment programs, he started college with 57 credit hours under his belt.

He has continued to be a highly engaged scholar at USF.  Here, he is a member and peer mentor of the USF Honors College, the Business Honors Program, and the Provost’s Scholars Program.  All three of these rigorous opportunities require students to conduct research alongside faculty and to participate in learning programs with like-minded, goal-oriented students. 

Though early in his academic career, Angail is developing into a strong leader on campus. Because of his community service, Angail was recently honored with the President’s Leadership for Service Award. He is a “Green and Gold Guide,” a resident of the Bulls Business Community, a peer mentor for the Honors College, and a senator representing the College of Business in Student Government.  Angail has become involved with USF’s Center for Leadership and Civic Engagement and recently spent his spring break helping to rebuild homes affected by Hurricane Katrina.  He also has a 4.0 grade point average.

Angail recently began a legislative internship with Florida State Representative Will Weatherford.  This summer, he will join his fellow business honors students for a study abroad trip to  Slovakia.
